Chromebooks

Power on the chromebook by either opening it or tapping the power button

At the sign in screen

• K/1- Log in using your Clever Badge provided to you by your teacher. 
• 2-12-Enter your student login name (everything before @garpal.net of their email). If a student is unsure what their login name is, please contact their teacher

At the Welcome screen (after entering the login name)

• 2-12- Enter the student password. Password will be provided by their teacher (2-5) or by the front office (6-12)

For the ext few steps you will be accessing a settings menu by clicking the clock at the lower right of the screen.

To turn the Chromebook off, either

• Hold down the power button until the screen goes dark
• Click on the clock menu (see Settings Menu above)
  • Clock on the power/shutdown button

Note: Closing the lid places the computer into a sleep mode that will drain battery power over time. Turning off your Chromebook when not in use will preserve power. Charge often!

1. Power on the Chromebook (see Power-On above)
2. Click on the clock (screen, lower-right)
3. A small pop-up menu will appear
4. Click the “Not connect, No Networks” drop-down menu
   1. Select your home network from the list
   2. Enter your home Wi-Fi password
   3. Check by making sure the “pie shape” wireless icon is a solid white color

• Go to previous page (F1 or left arrow)
• Go to next page (F2 or right arrow)
• Refresh your current page (F3 or circle arrow)
• Make your page take up the full screen (F4 or expanding square)
• Show all your open windows (F5 or stacked squares)
• Decrease screen brightness (F6 or small sun)
• Make the screen brighter (F7 or large sun)
• Turn off the sound (F8 or speaker with a slash)
• Lower the volume (F9 or speaker with one bar)
• Raise the volume (F10 or speaker with multiple bars)
